Exams are right around the corner and stress levels are running high. Thankfully I had the excuse of making a trip to Plymouth to see the orthodentist this week, and decided to make a day of it by getting an earlier train and doing some shopping. It meant I could put revision to the back of my mind for a few more hours and get some well needed headspace. It’s really cheap to get to Plymouth with a railcard, and only takes an hour and a half (ish) from Penryn station.
Unfortunately I didn’t have time to visit the harbour, but I’ve been assured it’s a nice place to visit on a sunny day. I started off by grabbing some breakfast, then wandering up the high street to the indoor shopping centre – Primark and Tiger are a must, and let’s not forget the giant Waterstones. By then it was lunchtime so I had a pasty on the go before visiting the dentist, doing some more wandering and then getting the train back. Sometimes time off from revision is necessary, and staring out of a train window thoughfully for an hour can do the world of good.
