How to Bounce Back
By: Julia Battistoni
Every now and then we all are “stuck in a rut” in our lives. Whether it is with school, love, or yourself. Well, what can you do about it? First off, you need to tell yourself that everyone goes through this. I know when I feel like this, I get overwhelmed with my thoughts and think I am alone. That is not the case at all, but some people are better at containing it than others. With school, take one assignment at a time and slowly get your groove back. School work takes up a lot of time and energy, trust me I know. So, every once in a while, take a small break by brewing some tea, listen to your favorite song, or even take a small walk to rest your mind and recuperate. Just know that you will reach your career goals, but sometimes understand school is hard, no matter where you go. Allow yourself to experience this, but you will not always feel like this. Whether you know it or not, you will bounce back on your own without thinking twice sometimes. You have to believe in yourself, because you have made it through the best and worst days so you are very capable. Speaking of believing in yourself, if you are “stuck in a rut” about love, which I know I have been for a long time, you are also not the only one. Love is a tricky subject, and it is not easy to understand. I’ll admit it, I know I have been so upset about not having boys like me. Although I have this anxiety looming over me, I make sure I receive the right help and support I need. Love happens naturally, and it is a really hard subject to grasp at times. As long as you believe in yourself, and love yourself as much as you want others to love you, you will receive what you need. Lastly, for yourself, find hobbies to keep you busy, grab a calendar or planner and make sure your week fits for you. I would recommend creating a bedtime or morning ritual for every day. For example, my bedtime ritual is putting my phone away for the night, getting ready for bed hygiene wise, and finally reading a couple chapters from a book or coloring before I actually try and sleep. In the morning, I pour myself a bowl of cereal, listen to music, and then eventually get ready for my day. I believe if you take care of yourself in small ways, you will see a positive difference in your life.
