Five Book Adaptations Coming To Your Screen in 2020

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Endicott chapter.

Books becoming movies or television shows is nothing new. In high school, we sobbed our eyes our watching The Fault in Our Stars after devouring the John Green book, and grew up reading then watching everything that happened at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series. But nowadays it can feel like there is a new movie, tv shows, and book to consume everyday that you do not know how you are going to get through it all. If you are looking to get into a story first by the book then by the on screen version of it here are five book adaptations coming in the next couple months that are sure to keep you entertained:

Emma By Jane Austin

The Last Thing He Wanted by Joan Didon

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

Normal People by Sally Rooney

The Women in the Window by A.J. Finn

All of these stories are about complicated relationships between women and the people around them. There’s also a range of really amazing talent in all these adaptations. Reese Witherspoon is making and starring in Little Fires Everywhere, taking on a new mom role post Big Little Lies. Emma stars Anya Taylor Joy, from other indie movies, like Thoroughbreds, and the upcoming X Men movie, New Mutants and Josh O Connor, aka Prince Philip from The Crown. Personally, Normal People is what I am most excited for because I can never put down a Sally Rooney book. They are so honest and interesting about relationships with others and yourself that I am excited to see how that comes to the screen.
