2018 Summer Memories

Summer 2018 was definitely one for the books. Summer is such a warm, fun, and happy time, but who says it all goes away when the season comes to an end? Instead of being sad it is over, be excited about what is next to come and take a minute to reflect on all the fun adventures you went on! My summer 2018 was definitely one of the busiest ones I have had so far. This year I was working more hours than I ever have to save for those college loans (if you know, you know). Even though work took over most of my life, I still found time to share amazing memories with my family, friends, and boyfriend. Here is some of the things I did that might inspire your next year’s summer bucket list!

Go To The Beach

Would summer even be summer without beach days? Some people prefer lakes, ponds, or swimming pools, but there is something about the beach I just can’t get enough of. The first two weeks of summer my friends and I did nothing but have beach days all day everyday before work started back up for us. We always made sure we packed a cooler full of food and water, a speaker, and the boys would bring their spike ball. Some beaches even had a jetty that you can walk on and enjoy the beautiful view. If there was one thing I learned those first couple beach days being back in the hot sun, is to NOT forget your sunscreen!

Go to a Concert

Something that my friends and I always get so excited for is summer concerts! This year we went to two: Post Malone and Chris Brown. I just love vibing to good music with great friends. Next summer I would love to go to a country concert since I have never been.

Have Date Night In Boston

If you ever find yourself in the North End, I suggest you stop at Maggiano’s for an amazing Italian dinner or Mike’s Pastry for the best cannolis you will ever have. Being in a long distance relationship during the school year, my boyfriend and I had lots of fun date nights in mind for when we got to see eachother again in the summer, and the date night in Boston was so much fun! Having a night to yourselves is always nice, but a night together in our beautiful city was even better.

Cape Week

Another thing my friends and I do every year is take a week off of work to spoil ourselves and go on vacation. Everyone needs to spoil themselves here and there, right? I think so. All summer we look forward to this week, especially since we all go to different schools now and only get to see each other on breaks. I love every part of this trip and I am already way too excited for Cape Week 2019!

Saint Anthony’s Feast

My family and I love to go to Saint Anthony’s Feast every year at the end of August. For the whole month of August, there are feasts every weekend in the North End. Saint Anthony’s is usually always the last one and has to be my favorite. The streets are full of food and drink stands, games, and activities, in addition to the many delicious restaurants located at every block. I always come back with a full tummy and if you love Italian food, I highly recommend taking a trip to check it out!

Go Bowling

Whether you are good or bad at it, I don’t think you can ever go wrong with bowling! This summer, my boyfriend and I went on a double date with his brother and his girlfriend and played a bunch of games together. You can get creative and come up with different teams and make bets. For example, for one of the games we played we did boys vs. girls and we beat the boys. Before playing, we bet the boys that if we won, they would have to buy us ice cream…so looks like we’re getting free ice cream!

Family Parties

I always enjoy family parties. I have a big family so our family gatherings are always a blast. You can always count on there being delicious food, yard games, lots of laughs, and altogether it is just so much fun. There are lots of birthdays and holidays in the summer as well, so family parties are always a great hit for those events.
