They came. We saw. We tailgated.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

Emory School Spirit may have been all the rage in Asbury Circle last week; but hey, trends change fast.

In the timeline of this past weekend:

We welcomed the Final Four NCAA teams to Atlanta.

We welcomed friends of friends of the Final Four teams to crash on our couches.

We welcomed a killer free concert series featuring Macklemore, Dave Matthews Band, and other amazing performers.

We welcomed the jealously-infused gushes over the delightful warmth of our finally-springtime Atlanta weather.

We welcomed the opportunity for overpriced tickets to the Georgia Dome to fall into our most-prized possessions.

We welcomed a maize and blue covered clan into Maggie’s.

We welcomed, most particulary, when our friends of friends loaded back into their New York plated compact cars.

Yet most important, Emory students welcomed the opportunity to show off some state school worthy tailgate style.

Congratulations to the Louisville Cardinals on winning the championship!

And, congratulations to Emory students for holding back from verbalizing any regrets over passing up on a college experience characterized by wearing spirit sleeves in a boisterous student section of a giant, effervescent sports stadium. Well done, team.
