Last summer, I took a semester of calculus in 6 weeks at Emory. Worst decision of my life. Only one good thing came out of those terrible 6 weeks. After a particularly rough calc class, I walked out of the Math and Science Center and saw a lot of vans, people with headsets, and giant tables of food. How intriguing. Then I saw a well dressed man run across the street followed by giant cameras.
I asked a security man what was happening. He said he was a part of the crew for MacGyver. The show did not ring a bell. I googled it as I walked back to my car. I looked through the cast and a particular blonde actor stuck out to me. I knew he looked familiar, so I googled him
How could I have forgotten Lucas Till? He played Hannah’s love interest in Hannah Montana: The Movie. Remember the cute blonde cowboy from Tennessee who Hannah rides horses with? That’s Lucas Till. Miley and Lucas actually dated in real life. Before Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter, there was Lucas Till.
Personally, a different role really stuck out to me on his IMDB page. Remember one of the most iconic music videos of our generation, Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” music video? In the cinematic masterpiece, Taylor Swift lives across from her crush, and they communicate by holding pieces of paper up to the window. Then b*tch Taylor in a brunette wig steals him from natural blonde Taylor. At the prom at the end of the video, blonde Taylor and her crush get together. LUCAS TILL PLAYS THE GUY!!
After this discovery, I had to meet this legend. I asked some very kind crew members about the current location of Lucas Till. Finally, a very nice man told me he was shooting in the New Psych building. I began my steakout. I actually got to watch him shoot a scene. I asked the very nice crew member if I could get a picture with him and he said . . . “maybe” (so I stuck around hopefully). A few takes of the exact same scene later, the man called Lucas over. At this point a few other girls from my Calc class had joined me.
Lucas Till actually came over, introduced himself and took pictures with us!
