Less Is More

When it gets humid outside, its best to wear as little makeup as possible. However, if you’re like me, and you need a little something covering those old acne scars, then it’s best to find something that doesn’t sit on top of your skin. My absolute favorite product is TIZO3 Tinted Facial Mineral Sunscreen. It gives me that slight coverage I need without feeling heavy or itchy on my skin. BB and CC creams are also great products to give you some coverage without melting off your face the second you step outside.

Go Matte

If you feel positively naked without foundation, not to worry. There are a ton of foundations out there, liquid and powder, that are made to keep your face nice and dry all day.

Waterproof Isn’t Only for Swimming

Who here has come home after a long day only to look in the mirror and realize that their mascara has come off on their eyelids? I certainly have. That’s why I use waterproof mascara every day, not just when I know I’ll be jumping into a pool.

Setting Spray, Setting Spray

It’s totally possible to step out of the house with a full face of makeup in the morning and return at night with it as perfect as when you first applied it, but this is so much easier with setting spray. If you live somewhere that’s really humid *cough cough Atlanta* I might even go for two rounds of setting spray.

Pack Blotting Pads

BLOTTING PADS ARE A MUST!! I have lived in Florida all my life, and I never leave the house without them. By far, my favorite plotting papers are Boscia Blotting Linens. They’re made with very few and simple ingredients, their packages are super cute, and they even smell good. The best part? They take off the oil and sweat, but your makeup stays put.

The Boyfriend’s Advice:

My boyfriend saw me writing this article, and he had a few suggestions for tackling the humidity:

  1. Move somewhere else
  2. Don’t go outside
  3. Don’t sweat

Easy, right?

Hong Kong born and raised, Manishka is widely known for two things – her clumsiness and her ability to spend hours laughing at her own jokes! When she’s not busy trying to find out how she got her latest bruise, she can usually be found eating an avocado, while re-watching Gossip Girl for the 6th…no… 7th time! Her hobbies include raiding the fridge, stalking Doug the Pug on Instagram and trying to find out the secret ingredient in Krabby Patties.
