If you haven’t seen the Fratshionistau email that has been circulating the internet, you probably live under a rock, or are getting completely screwed over by EmoryUnplugged this semester. Either way, the mastermind behind ATO’s newfound fashion sense and Gilt Groupe’s lastest columnist, Jonathan, has been interviewd like crazy this past month, taking calls and emails from the likes of GQ, Business Insider, and CNN no less. Our Cutie this week by now has a fan base far beyond Emory’s campus, but he gave us an exclusive interview just for you lovely Her Campus readers. What female fashion trends does Jonathan hate the most? Who is his favorite music artist? What are the downsides to his newfound fame? Time to meet the real Jonathan, ladies.

Her Campus Emory (HCE): Give us 3 female trends you can’t stand.
Jonathan (J): Trend #1: Uggs. Don’t do it. They’re just bulky, ugly, and shapeless. Trend #2: Tucking in leggings to Uggs–see trend #1 but think “less attractive”. Trend #3: Sweatpants. I get that you are in a rush and “don’t have time to change”, but if your class starts after ten there is no excuse.
HCE: Are there any downsides to your newfound fame?
J: The only downside I have seen is that people have an impression of me without having ever met me; that e-mail is a small part of my personality but sometimes it precedes me.
HCE: Has your new title of “fratshionistau” brought you more success with the ladies?
J: Haha I haven’t really tried out the “I’m viral on the Internet” line, but I couldn’t imagine it going over too well.
HCE: Do you plan on having a career in fashion? Tell us what your ideal job after graduation would be.
J: Well that’s the goal; as far as a dream job, nothing sounds nicer than setting up a shop back home with my sister.
HCE: Tell us a fun fact about yourself
J: I have memorized every word from Frank Sinatra’s Nothing But The Best album.
HCE: Moving forward, what are you next plans as fratshionistau? Can we expect any more mass emails?
J: Well, thanks to GILT Groupe I am now dispensing fashion advice in a column rather than a listserv. Hopefully from here I can start moving forward as Jon the writer instead of the Fratshionistau. (Editor’s note: Check out Jonathan’s Gilt Groupe introduction here!)
HCE: Who is your favorite designer?
J: Jean Touitou–head designer for APC and general badass, Jean comes off as a guy with such a passion for life and finding different ways to express it.
HCE: What’s your relationship status?
J: I’m seeing someone.
HCE: What is your favorite pattern?
J: I am all for simplicity when it comes to designs; color-blocking and white aren’t used enough in my opinion. That being said, I love a girl who can rock the polka dots.
