Halloween in March? Count me in! But Dooley’s Week is more than finding a (scandalous?) outfit to wear to Dooley’s Ball. A tradition on campus since 1941, Dooley’s Week is a time to celebrate Emory, to get dismissed from class by a skeleton, and to engage in mischievous misrule. And this year’s theme “Party ‘Till the World Ends” is quite befitting of our boney friend.

Do: Go to all of the events
Dooley’s Week is — as its name so cleverly states — all week. So don’t just go to the big ticket events over the weekend!

Today—get your work done! There are no scheduled events so if you have to pull an all nighter in the libs, tonight is the night to do it. No excuses.

Wednesday is extra Wonderful during Dooley’s Week. Head over to Asbury Circle as usual at 11am for a special presentation of WW brought to you by the Lord of Misrule himself. And for trivia lovers (who isn’t?), SGA is hosting a Trivia night Wednesday night in Cox.

Doesn’t the name Rob Riggle make you want to laugh? The comedian will be joking Thursday night at 7pm in Glenn Memorial.

Sleep tight Thursday and be productive Friday afternoon to prepare for Dooley’s Ball. Go all out and hit up Lenox and Little Five for creative costumes, which will probably be on sale since it’s…March. You have to dress up (and let’s be serious, who wouldn’t want to?!). Dance the night away to Alesso, but don’t burn up all your energy—Dooley’s has an extra this year!!

Okay, everyone knows that Emory loves the 90’s. Really, I would like to thank Emory for allowing me to relive my childhood while in college because that’s exactly what I wanted. But Ben Folds is by far the most excited I’ve been (which honestly isn’t saying much) for all of the throwback artists SPC loves (loves. loves.). So come sing along to Folds’ new-ish songs and pray he plays some of the old Ben Folds Five songs. Please.

Don’t: Skip class this week
Because you will be disappointed when you don’t go and Dooley let’s your class out. Use it as motivation to get out of bed and hope for an early release.

Do: Cover yourself

Here at Emory, we have just Dooley’s Ball and Halloween where “Slutty _____” is an excuse for a costume. But please, try for the sake those around you to at least wear some clothing.

Do: Check out the Dooley’s LL Conference
Since you will be going to class this week, instead of going on Facebook, browse Dooley’s musing on the conference. Students’ poems are often entertaining, and reading people’s hilarious rants is a good time, too.

Happy Dooley’s Week!

Jessica lives her life at several speeds. She talks too fast, eats too slow and over-analyzes too much.  When she’s not telling long-winded stories, sitting alone at the dinner table, or staring off into space, Jessica loves all things creative. Screenwriter, play director and poet at age 9, songwriter and choreographer at age 16, now, at 23, all she really wants to do is write, help others, and post Instagrams.  As a social media coordinator for multiple fashion brands, and a post-grad writer for Her Campus, she gets to do just that. Jessica is a Midwestern girl from the suburbs of Chicago, but she fell in love with city living during a summer internship in the Big Apple, and now calls NYC home. Jessica loves chocolate milkshakes, dance parties, Chippewa Ranch Camp, Friends re-runs, Chuck Bass and of course, spending time with her fans (read: family and friends).
