The Cutest Halloween Costumes for Dogs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

  1. Scary

I don’t know if you guys have ever seen that video of a dog in a spider costume running around, but it is freaking terrifying. You can also get a doggie alligator costume, which would also scare the bejeezus out of me, personally. But, then again, I’m from Florida, where there is always the slight possibility that an alligator will chase you around.

  1. Cutesy

One of the best parts about Halloween is seeing all those happy dogs in adorable costumes. I’m talking thicc bumblebees, pretty lady bugs, or maybe even a jack-o-lantern. You can’t go wrong with a classic puppy costume.

  1. Simple

If your dog is more of the low-maintenance type, there are still plenty of cute costumes out there. You could slip on a lion’s mane to let your dog show off their pride, or wrap a scarf around them and they they’re a Hogwarts student. If your dog is as cute as a stuffed animal, you can make a giant tag to tie around their neck just like Beanie Babies and other plushy toys! All you really need for a killer costume is a little creativity and a trip to Walmart.

  1. Funny

There are SOOOOOOO many options for funny doggie costumes right now! You could dress your pooch as a public figure, or you could go the more punny route. Might I suggest a hot dog costume for the long and short dogs and a “pupkin spice latte” costume for all those “it girls” out there?

Hong Kong born and raised, Manishka is widely known for two things – her clumsiness and her ability to spend hours laughing at her own jokes! When she’s not busy trying to find out how she got her latest bruise, she can usually be found eating an avocado, while re-watching Gossip Girl for the 6th…no… 7th time! Her hobbies include raiding the fridge, stalking Doug the Pug on Instagram and trying to find out the secret ingredient in Krabby Patties.
