Be chic. Be covered: Cell Phone Cases

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

If you are insistent upon holding it all the time, the least you can do is make your cell phone an extension of your style.

Wallet case: This can be very handy. Rummaging to find your Emory card to hastily pay for food at Cox Hall or the DUC just got so much easier. Admit it, at least one of your hands is always glued to your cell phone, and with your card conveniently tucked into your case; scanning into the library or your residence hall becomes a split second process. Aside from just your Emory card, there’s room for about two other cards and some money. If Maggie’s is your selected destination, don’t even worry about bringing a bag to keep track of all night. Just slide the appropriate identification, 20 dollars, and your credit card/Emory card in the back of your phone case. Voila! You’re set for a (only fair to assume) semi-mediocre night on the town!

Studded case: They are totally badass. Not to mention, the hardware may offer decent protection for your phone, should you drop it (a frequent scenario to materialize “raging” at a frat). Most commonly, you’ll see large silver, gold, or bronze pyramid-shaped studs embellishing the back of the case. Many retailers extend the trend and sell studded cases with unique patterns and shapes. Juicy Couture makes nearly every solid color (studs and case), and Etsy sells dozens of studded cases with tribal, floral, animal print, you name it!

Designer case: Numerous high-end designers make very affordable phone cases that mimic their brand’s distinct look. Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, and Kate Spade (just to name a few), all sell a similarly structured case, imprinted with their own signature design. For example, Marc Jacobs makes cases with his staple ‘Marc by Marc’ lettering that repeats across the back, and Tory Burch often channels her brand logo as inspiration for fresh phone case patterns.

Other cool brands to check out: Dannijo, Ted Baker, DVF, Michael Kors, Speck & InCase.

When selecting a chic case, don’t forget that its benefit reaches beyond appearances. Always use protection… accidents do happen!
