Her Campus at Emmanuel: What made you choose to join EC Habitat?
Emily Dyer: I’ve always loved volunteering, and Habitat was a different way to get involved.
HCE: What are you most looking forward to on the spring break trip?
ED: To experience a new culture by traveling to a new part of the U.S., and to interact with the community members by contributing to their town.
HCE: What does it mean to you to know that you are making a difference in someone’s life?
ED: It is rewarding to know I am impacting someone’s life, but those people affect my life, too. To me, that is more valuable.

ED: Learning how to stain concrete floors in Taos, New Mexico.
HCE: What is a mantra or quote that you live by?
ED: “I hope you know you’re capable and brave and significant even when it feels like you’re not.”
