Holiday Gift Guide for Mom

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emmanuel chapter.

The holiday season always comes so fast and it’s suddenly time to buy your loved ones presents. While I love to give gifts, I struggle every year…especially with my mom. With all that they do for us this time of year can come with a lot of pressure to perfectly convey our appreciation for them. Hopefully, this gift guide, with items ranging in price, will provide you with something your mom could fall in love with.

1. Air Fryer ($40-$400)

As you can see, this kitchen appliance has a wide price range. Depending on the model of the air fryer and the performance skills, this can be a larger gift or a smaller one. If your mom likes to cook (or even if she doesn’t) this item is such a great help in the kitchen. It could be used to prepare a frozen meal, or even a whole chicken if it has the capacity for that. It can also fry veggies, cookies, and just about anything you’re creative enough to throw in there. From my experience, the air fryer has definitely lived up to the hype and could be a perfect addition or replacement in the kitchen.

2. Bath Tray ($20-$50)

If your mom enjoys taking baths, this gift is a must! My mom, the queen of bubble baths, insists this item is an absolute game-changer. It has a spot for any bath activity you may practice as it can hold a book, a tablet to watch your comfort show, and even a glass of wine. It’s items like this that you wouldn’t always think of but can be such a pleasant surprise.

3. Mug Warmer ($10-$100)

Mornings are a busy time for moms and they can easily get sidetracked. Coffee or tea is an important part of the morning, and a mug warmer is perfect when unable to cut out time to enjoy your cup. Personally, one of my biggest pet peeves is losing the warmth and freshness of a cup of coffee, so this gift is perfect to prevent that. Your mom will never have to worry about a cold drink when trying to focus on making your morning better.

4. Google Nest Hub ($99.99)

There are many variations of this Google product and all are equally as neat. The latest generation of the Nest Hub has incredible features such as controlling the lights or televisions around your home, watching Youtube videos, and even creating a personalized schedule. This means it will tell you the weather, give you the rundown on today’s work commute, give you reminders, and complete other commands it receives. While the price is a bit steep, this piece of technology is a great addition to any room in the house.

5. Birthstone Ornaments ($25)

There are plenty of personalized gifts that could incorporate you and your siblings’ birthstones such as jewelry or keychains, but I like this one since it relates directly to Christmas. My mom has kept and adores each of our school holiday crafts, and all of them continue to hang on our tree every year. An ornament that reminds your mom of you (that looks like a real ornament rather than some construction paper and glitter glue) can be so meaningful especially when away at college.

6. Cheese Board ($45-$69)

If your mom likes to host, a fancy charcuterie board is a must have. There are many compact boards that swivel, have two levels to expand when needed, and also come with mini knife storage. At any holiday gathering or event, this will for sure be a big hit among the guests.

7. Wine Candles ($24)

This combines the best of both worlds for the stereotypical mom: wine and candles. With these, if they aren’t ready for a glass, they can light the candle instead and have the aroma of their favorite wine. There are even ones that are made in a recycled bottle.

8. Refreshing Face Mask Spray ($13)

With this being a little smaller, it would make a perfect stocking stuffer. With the uncertainty of when it will become safe to take the masks off, it’s great that we have products like this to hold us over. To make wearing masks a little more pleasant, a spray with all natural and relaxing fragrances is an easy way to enjoy some aromatherapy.

Hopefully, this sparks some inspiration for not only your mom but any relative or friend who could enjoy these gifts. The holidays are right around the corner and it’s never too soon to start looking. Wanting to be personal and original can be tough, which is why it’s nice to take a step back and conduct some research first.
