Follow Her: To a James Bay Concert

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emmanuel chapter.

As a lover of live music and concert adrenaline rushes, I was stoked to go to a James Bay concert this weekend. Not only did I get to see one of my favorite artists live, but I fell in love with his opening act “Joseph”. Joseph is a band of three sisters that rely on an acoustic guitar, foot drum, and their amazing pipes to create soulful, haunting, and powerful music. After they performed I met the Closner sisters (of Joseph, pictured below) and they were just as kind and friendly as they are talented! I highly recommend checking out their new album, I’m Alone, No You’re Not.

I would also like to promote a couple of my favorite James Bay tunes that I think are worth a listen. Here are my three favorites:

1. “Collide”

One of his more angsty rock songs, “Collide” is one of my faves. It happened to be the song he opened with– how lucky am I?!

2. “Move Together”

“Move Together” is the soulful slow song you didn’t know you needed in your life. You’re welcome.

3. “Best Fake Smile”

This one is such a jam. It’s got more of a pop song, and it’s super catchy so you’ll have it stuck in your head for days. I’m not complaining!
