A Night With Noah Kahan

Maggie Collins Student Contributor, Emmanuel College
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emmanuel chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

If you’ve been following my HerCampus journey this past year, maybe you remember my first article being on The Busy Head Project which is Noah Kahan’s nonprofit. Let’s just say that in the past year and a half close to nothing has changed with my love for Noah. When my best friend and I saw that he was coming back to Boston to do a benefit concert at MGM Music Hall at Fenway we knew immediately we had to be in that room. However with a 5,000 person capacity we knew the chances were slim, especially with the luck we have had with Ticketmaster in the past. So it came to our surprise when I got the email confirming we got the tickets and would be in “200 level standing room obstructed view”, but we would still be in his presence and that’s what matters. Now, we know we got lucky but so many people did not, so for those individuals here is some of my personal highlights from this show.

All My Love

Opening with this song felt like stepping straight back into the summer of 2023 for my best friend and I. It was one of the first songs that we belted out together and it was just as special to see it live for a second time.

New Perspective

Coming from a small town this song has always had a special place in my heart. The line “the intersection has a Target” has always resonated with me because mine only has a gas station. However, since moving to Boston for college I have had a new appreciation or “New Perspective” for my hometown and I have learned to love all of its little quirks.

She Calls Me Back

Maybe the most upbeat song on this list, it just makes you want to get up and dance and call that number (except he tells you not to!).

Northern Attitude

While I am not sure if his intent was to gaslight us into thinking that Hozier was going to come onto stage, he definitely did. However the presence of Niall Horan was just as mesmerizing as it was when I saw him with One Direction. Just as attractive, just as funny, just as entertaining. And if there is one thing for sure, it’s that I am mean because I grew up in New England.

The View Between Villages

As soon as the opening chords hit, the whole crowd seemed to take a collective breath, and the energy in the room shifted. The stage lights washed over the audience while everyone screamed the lyrics back at him, turning the arena into one huge sing-along. His voice sounded even more raw and emotional in person, and you could feel every word echo through the space. At that moment, it didn’t feel like just a concert—it felt like reliving a hundred memories all at once, wrapped up in one song.

Stick Season

The second the opening cords of this song hit everybody knew the night was about to be over. His voice carried so much nostalgia and the whole room became connected through these same emotions that all came from different stories.

Now while this was not the whole set list these are the songs that resonated with me the most. Hearing songs that you relate to makes everything feel much more manageable, so this concert reset right before finals and the hectic holiday season. We do not know for sure when he will be back but he said sooner than we think, so I guess only time will tell.

Hi everybody! My name is Maggie and I am a sophomore studying Psychology and Biology. Outside of school I love to play tennis, listen to music (especially at concerts!), and read the latest rom-com. My motto in life is "its not that serious" and that definitely comes through in my articles, so if you need a little silly read you are in the right place :)
