5 Reasons Why a Jean Jacket is Essential to Your Fall Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emmanuel chapter.

I just bought my first jean jacket. Yes, this makes no sense. I apologize to the Fashion Gods for waiting twenty years to add this necessity to my closet. I have no clue how I’ve gone without this fundamental fall piece this long.

1. A jean jacket goes with almost every outfit, except jeans, of course.

Jean jackets add that little something that can make your outfit really pop! The add the texture you’re missing with a plain cotton tee, or leggings.

2. They can look cute and preppy.

Pair it with your favorite fancy dress to make it a little more casual.

3. Or totally edgy.

Get yourself a cool ripped jean jacket and add some of your favorite patches.

4. It’s an easy layer

It’ll help out on those annoying days when the morning is freezing, but you’re somehow transported to the Sahara Desert midday.

5. They don’t have an expiration date.

The jean jacket will always be in style. Get a nice one that you love because you’re going to be able to wear it for years!

Jean jackets are the perfect layer to any fall outfit. They can make any outfit pop, or just make casual for a day full of classes. I can’t believe I went twenty years without owning a jean jacket. Trust me, your jean jacket is about to become a staple in your fall wardrobe.
