Take a trip to Bliss Boston

Give your chapped winter lips a little tender, love, and care.  Head over to Bliss® around the corner on Stuart Street and get a “Fabulips Treatment.”  This facial for your lips features a cocoa and shea butter cleanser, sugar scrub, lip plumper, and a hydrating lip balm.  Your pout will feel baby soft and those cracked winter lips will disappear!

Go Spring Shopping

(Clockwise from top left: Xhilaration Espadrilles-$29.99, Bobbi Brown Neon Lip Gloss-$23 each, Lush Cape Sleeve Chiffon Dress-$46, Xhilaration Soft Clutches-$14.99 each, Rubbish Asymmetrical Circle Hem Maxi Skirt-$42, Merona Colorblock Floppy Hat-$14.99, Target Rhinestone Bib Necklace-$29.99)

Nothing can boost a girl’s mood more than shopping.  Instead of snatching up heavy sweaters and boots on sale, think ahead to warmer months and start adding a few spring pieces into your wardrobe.  If the bright hues and thought of sunny weather isn’t enough to take you out of the winter slump, gather a few friends and make it a girl’s day!

Hit the gym

If you haven’t been hitting the gym already this year, now is the time to start.  Half an hour of exercise a few days a week will give you more energy and make you feel more confident.  Get your heart pumping with fun cardio workouts like Zumba®, hula-hooping, cardio kickboxing, or spinning.  Exercising regularly will enhance your mood and get you through the winter blues.

Give yourself a manicure and pedicure

A mani-pedi is the ultimate treat.  Light some candles, put on some Ingrid Michaelson, and gather your nail salon essentials.  If you want to go the extra mile, before you start your manicure and pedicure try a hand and foot soak in warm water for about fifteen minutes.  After soaking, spray a peppermint cooling spray on your feet and treat your fingernails with cuticle cream.  I love The Body Shop’s Peppermint Cooling Foot Sprayand Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.  Once you have trimmed, filed, and buffed your nails, pick out your favorite polish and get to work!  Brighter hues will be sure to have you smiling!

Stay in and have a movie night

Going out on the weekends is something we wait for all week long, but sometimes we hate the idea of braving the harsh weather.  On a bitter, cold night, skip the parties and stay in!  Rent a Redbox DVD or start checking off a few movies on your Netflix Instant Queue.  Grab all the necessary snacks at the C-Store: popcorn, gummy bears, Ben & Jerry’s, and Oreos!  After a night in, you’ll feel refreshed and avoid feeling the winter blues!

Bake in your microwave

A five-minute chocolate cake in the microwave?  Yes, please!  This recipe is amazing.  You put all the ingredients into a mug, mix it up, add chocolate chips, microwave it, and that’s it!  What can possibly be better for your mood than chocolate cake?
