If you would have told me last year that travel brand BÉIS was going to collaborate with makeup brand Rare Beauty, I wouldn’t have believed you. Now, a year has passed and they’re releasing yet another collaboration. I’d be in disbelief if I wasn’t over the moon excited that they’re doing this again!
In case you hadn’t heard, Shay Mitchell launched her own luggage company in 2018 that has since expanded into gym bags, backpacks, and other collaborations with Disney and GAP.
Selena Gomez, on the other hand, came out with Rare Beauty in 2020. The brand started out with lip balms and blushes and later branched out into mascara, lotions, and perfume.
Separately, these brands are fashion forward in their own way. They view self-expression in how their product is used and its ease for the consumer. Together, that vision transcends the industries they are in. By combining travel and beauty, consumers can feel pampered and recognized in ways they haven’t been before. Having done two collaborations in two years, here’s how they differ.
The ‘Worth’ Collection
For their opening collaboration last year, Shay Mitchell and Selena Gomez released three limited-time products: The Large Cosmetic Pouch, The Makeup Brush Pouch, and The Blush Case, all in the Rare Beauty’s signature blush shade ‘Worth’.
The Large Cosmetic Pouch is a BÉIS tried and true favorite. From customizable dividers, to brush holders, this pouch can carry your full routine with enough room for any extra products you might pick up in your travels. It even includes an insulated pocket for those items that benefit from being cool.
Similar to The Large Cosmetic Pouch, The Makeup Brush Pouch is a BÉIS bestseller. What makes this brush pouch different from others is that it’s built to stand upright on any surface. In addition, the bag material is made with a wipeable interior.
The Blush Case, a new product at the time, was a snapback case that served as a keychain. It was created to fit Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid blush and had a mirror attached inside.
For their first project together, it made sense that they would start small to see the reaction and interest. This year, they cast their net a little wider.
The ‘Limitless’ Collection
Much like the ‘Worth’ collection, the BÉIS brand features its makeup pouches in Rare Beauty’s newest shade, Limitless. The Large Cosmetic Pouch is back, and joining it are the The Medium Cosmetic Pouch and The Small Cosmetic Pouch.
Similar to The Large Cosmetic Pouch, The Medium and The Small offer a wipeable material. Along with brush holders, The Medium has a removable divider and mesh pockets. The Small has loops and smart pockets.
New in the expansion are luggages! The Large and The Medium Check-In as well as The Carry-On Roller are available in this collection. These luggage’s are known for their hard-shell exterior, cushioned handle, 360 wheels, and compression technology.
Another addition is The Mini Weekender. This bag is perfect for a short trip. It has a bottom compartment for shoes or extra toiletries and a wide-opening of the bag for easy access. For ease of packing and accessibility, it includes a padded laptop sleeve and a built-in key leash.
Last, but certainly not least, is a Rare Beauty cheek and lip duo. Rare Beauty’s award winning liquid blush features its new shade in a raspberry tone. As for the lip, the Positive Light Luminizing Gloss has its own raspberry shade, complimented by shimmers of pink and silver.
The beauty of this collection is that the options are limitless! It comes at a perfect time too, as Shay has revamped her luggage quality. While the shades are new, I would’ve liked a new product other than the lip and cheek duo. However, I’m excited for this collection and the possibility of furthering the BÉIS x Rare Beauty collaboration.
