Taylor Swift Just Posted a Countdown to Something and We’re All Shook

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

As many of you know, Taylor Swift took to her socials again on 4/13 (Yes––13––we see you Tay) and posted a countdown on her Instagram story to the date 4/26.  The singer also updated her profile picture to a light pastel mix of blues, pinks, and purples. She also changed her bio on instagram to “4/26.” Not only that, but Taylor also posted a picture of a crystal heart, which is giving us all the feels!

In addition to updating her Instagram, Taylor also updated her profile picture and bio on her Twitter page and Tumblr page as well.  Another added note for the sleuthing Swifties, was that Taylor updated the website on her Twitter to AprilTwentySix.com, which redirects you to Taylor’s website.

Her website has been updated from the Reputation Era to the same pink and blue pastels that have shown up across her social channels.  Taylor Nation also tweeted a link to the website in a tweet after Taylor’s countdown was posted. Taylor’s countdown has even sparked a tweet from Billboard (and the rest of the twitter community), who is excited about the potential new music that could be dropping.

Looking further into Taylor’s seemingly sudden drop of news, Swift’s fans, including myself, have taken to Twitter and caused Taylor’s impending announcement to trend.  Fans are also continuing with their theories about how we all knew that it was coming, even though we didn’t know. Here are a few of my favorite reaction tweets:

While I’m not super pumped about this timing (I mean seriously, Taylor, how am I supposed to write my final papers when I could be listening to new music?), I can’t wait to see what this new era has in store for us with a new label. Also, a new era means another tour, which I’ve been waiting for since the last show I went to! I have to say that if new music is coming on 4/26, I’m super excited and ready for this new era, even though Reputation was one of my favorites to date!

You heard it here first (or, Twitter did anyway), but here are my predictions for what Taylor’s new album has in store.  While I’m probably SUPER far off, I think it is safe to assume that this era is going to have some super ~SOFT~ vibes, which I’m totally on board with.  Will this be the era I get to meet Taylor (*cough cough* Taylor, I can meeting you in RI! *cough cough*)? Stay tuned over the course of this era to find out (because we all know there will be an article to follow if that is the case)!  Until then, enjoy the next few weeks, because we’re all about to lose our minds with some new Taylor beats.
