Holiday sweaters –they are red, green, bedazzled, embroidered, jingle and often come in family sets. They are probably the worst part of the holiday season. Her Campus is here to show you that there are many ways to show your holiday spirit without looking like you’ve rolled around in last year’s reject decorations.

Blogs are always a great place to look for inspiration; they shop on a budget, but still manage to keep up with trends and find their own styles.

LOOK 1.

Why wear one sweater when a whole outfit looks so good? Sydney’s (The Daybook) outfit catches the eye with a bold print and a chucky, but flattering sweater. Nothing is overtly holiday themed, but the total look embodies the warm and cozy feelings the holiday spirit brings.

British import Top Shop offers a huge range of sweaters, or jumpers as they are known in England, and has some great pieces that easily replicate this look.

LOOK 2.

Do not be afraid to embrace red, just stay away from the primary shades. The rich cranberry shades are optimal and complement every skin tone. The trick to doing allover color, as Krystal (This Time Tomorrow) shows us, is to vary textures and keep accessories minimal and neutral.

The nubby texture of the sweater coupled with the trim help break up the color.

LOOK 3.

Patterned pants seem to be everywhere this season and Sara (Collage Vintage) perfectly combines the trend with the rich forest green, a studded shirt, and most importantly, a classic black scoop neck sweater.

To recreate this look, start with a basic studded shirt that is thin so not to add too much bulk. Then add the classic black sweater and the statement piece – the pants.

With these looks in mind, you will be armed with all the sweaters you’ll be ready for every holiday occasion and extra cozy.
