I am passionate about a few things, and fashion ranks pretty high up there. Despite COVID hindering some aspects of the fashion world, I have still found many great pieces and must-haves for Winter/Spring 2021. Here are my top three must-haves for this upcoming season.

A high quality black pleated skirt

Black pleated skirts, in my opinion, are a staple in every wardrobe. They can be paired with everything, and despite it being chilly, are still super practical for none windy days. If it is cold outside, I simply layer tights or socks and tights underneath.

In terms of high and low quality, I am not suggesting spending $300 on a skirt, but the lifespan of a $60 dollar staple versus a $15 skirt is monumental. Not to mention the feel, quality, and overall look will typically be one hundred times better with the mid-range skirt. My favorite skirt of this style is from Aritzia. It was about $90, which obviously is on the higher end of price points, but the cost per wear has made it totally worth it.

A fitted layering piece

With it being so cold and windy, layering is pretty much a requirement, underneath your winter coat and over your regular top. However, I do not love sweatshirts for this task. When you layer multiple bulky things, oftentimes all sense of shape is lost. That is why my second must-have is a fitted layering piece that will keep you warm but not cause extra bulk. My personal favorite is from Patagonia, called  Women’s Better Sweater ¼- Zipp fleece. It’s made from sustainable fabric that has been recycled and reused, like many of their pieces.

A LBB

Everyone has heard of the Little Black Dress, but my essential for this upcoming season is a Little Black Bag. My most used bag is my black handbag, and I am a serious bag collector. I love shoes, and I love purses. However, a black handbag staple never fails to pull a look together. It also allows total fashion freedom because a cardinal rule of fashion is that black goes with basically everything. My LBB is from Kate Spade, called the Cameron Satchel, and fits all of my essentials with room to spare. It is not sold anymore as it is from a season or two ago, but there are plenty of similar ones out there!
