The Golden Globes premiered a few days ago, and even though it was partially online, the stars still turned out looks.

Anya Taylor-Joy

Best known for playing Beth Harmon in the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, Anya Taylor-Joy wore a green, subtly metallic Dior gown, channeling all the Slytherin queen vibes. She looked beautiful and elegant, draped in a matching green evening coat and shoes. Her dress had an open back and a deep-V in the front, and according to Dior, it took 300 hours to make. For her first Golden Globes win, she did not pull any punches, and considering that her character, Beth Harmon, has become a fashion icon, it only makes sense that Anya Taylor-Joy would be one too.

Regina King

Watchmen actress (as well as an actress in many other films and TV shows) Regina King wore a sparkly, sequined black, gold, and silver dress to this year’s Golden Globes. According to Louis Vuitton, the dress has over 40,000 sequins, and is framed with black side panelling and an asymmetrical one-shoulder section. With more concentrated sequins in the middle of the dress, the outer borders of the dress had more scattered sequins, making it look like the sequins simply disappeared into the black paneling.

Amanda Seyfried

Probably most known for her role in Mean Girls, Amanda Seyfried looked stunning at this year’s Golden Globes. Her Oscar de la Renta dress was salmon pink, with taffeta pressed flowers lining the top of the gown. Each of the flowers were handcrafted and created from individually embossed petals, according to Oscar de la Renta. She looked glamorous and stunning, without being overdone or too much. The flowers were the most beautiful part, looking like there were real peonies adorning her dress.

Dan Levy

Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy opted for a bright yellow Valentino suit with a gold sequin shirt underneath. It was one of the brightest looks of the night for the men at least (looking at your neon green dress, Cynthia Erivo), and definitely feels like a unique choice compared to the traditional men’s suits. Dan Levy also wore silver chrome shoes–think clown playing dress-up–but I’m choosing to look past the shoe choice to highlight the fact that he is clearaly unafraid of color or sparkle.

Satchel Lee

Spike Lee’s daughter, Satchel, is one of this year’s Golden Globes ambassadors, alongside her brother Jackson. Golden Globes ambassadors are young people who assist with escorting stars offstage and handing them their trophies, and are always the child or children of a celebrity. Satchel Lee wore a black Gucci dress embellished with tiny crystal stars and embroidered with flowers. There were cool cutouts at the top of her dress, almost mirroring some of the thin lines of the crystal patterns, and a thigh-high slit running up one side. She even had matching gloves made out of a similarly sheer black fabric with the same crystals sewed onto them.
