Hometown: Winthrop, Maine

Sign: Aquarius

What are you involved in here at Emerson?

I wanted to get into all of the TV/broadcast stuff, because I want broadcast journalism to be my main focus. I’ve gotten really involved in The Emerson Channel and Emerson Independent Video (EIV). Last semester, I was Associate Producer for Good Morning Emerson, and I was a segment host on Common Agenda. I also hosted a political news talk show on EIV, called The Spin Room. This semester, I’m producing a TV narrative on EIV, called Getting Ahead. It’s very college relatable. It’s been a lot of fun and a lot more work than I anticipated. It’s been a great learning experience. I’m also one of the hosts on Common Agenda. Emerson has so many different options that I feel like this is the time to be broad. I’m working on the EVVYs as well. I’m on the banquet team, and I just got cast as a dance performer.

What are you involved in outside of Emerson?

I work part-time as a student administrator at Boston Ballet School. It’s really good to keep dance involved in my life. Being a previous dance major, that was such a big thing. I get to take classes there, and get tickets to the shows. I just signed on for a second job for the summer working for Lucky Strike bowling. I’m also interning on Steve Grossman’s campaign, a Democrat running for governor in the November elections.

What is your best memory from this semester?

Turning 21. It was a humorous experience coming in to class the next day. I try to keep a real balance of work and fun. I want to work really hard and do well in school, but I’m very social and love to have fun. Other than that, recently being cast as an EVVYs dancer was really fun.

Where is your favorite place to go in Boston?

I love Cask ‘n Flagon. It’s a really fun bar/dance club. When you’re 21, definitely go. Other than that, I also love the Common and the Gardens.

What are you most looking forward to this spring?

Just sitting outside and not being freezing!

Can you describe yourself in 3 words or less?

Creative, humorous, determined.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

When people bite into popsicles. Not much bothers me, but that does.

If you could only use one iPhone app, what would it be?

Instagram. I love pictures! I love to capture memories. When I’m having a bad day, I look back at all the fun times.
