It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  That is, unless you haven’t been able to find a gift for your boyfriend.  Buying the right gift can be stressful.  But don’t let the dreaded gift buying get you down.  Here are some gift ideas for your man, whether he has just asked you out or you’ve been dating for months.

If you just started dating, you’re still discovering each other’s interests.  Treat your guy to dinner, go ice-skating, or check out your city’s free concerts.  You don’t want to intimidate him buy getting an elaborate gift, so just use the holiday season to get to know each other better.   If you still feel like you need to give him something he can unwrap, get him something small and fun he can use in his dorm. Headphones, a mini grill, silly shot glasses, or a poster are all great gifts.  Check out urbanoutfitters.com for gifts like these.

If you’ve been dating for several months but under a year, get him something that lets him indulge in his interests.  If he’s a sports fan, get him tickets to a big game.  If he’s interested in music, get him concert tickets.  And for the techy guy, try making a customizable iPad case at caseable.com.

For the more fashion savvy boyfriend, boots from bonobos are in style and casual enough that your guy will think of them as a glorified sneaker.

If you’ve been dating for a year or more, get him a great winter jacket or a timeless watch.   Boston.com has a great list of winter coats for men at http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/fashion/gallery/mens_coats_jackets_winterwishlist2011/

Cologne is also a classic gift, but make sure you pick a scent that he’ll enjoy too.  If he already has everything he needs, plan a trip for the two of you.  Try to get away for one weekend. Go skiing or snowboarding, or just enjoy each other’s company.
