Her Conference: High School 2015 Recap

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

This weekend, Her Campus hosted Her Conference: High School at Northeastern University. Her Conference: High School is targeted towards high school students & parents, focused on applying to and preparing for college life. Panelists include current college students & those with expertise in all things college, including admissions officers.

The day started with a breakfast of Greek yogurt with toppings sponsored by Pinkberry, before heading into the first keynote speaker of the day, Ryan Scheur. Ryan is the Assistant Director of Admissions at Northeastern, and had lots of insight into what happens before, during and after you submit your application to college. After the keynote wrapped up, it was time for panels #1 & #2 of the day. Topics included “Finding the Right Fit: How to Determine Which College is Best for You” and “Study Abroad 101: Everything You Need to Know,” among others.

Next up, it was time for lunch sponsored by Chipotle, which is always a huge hit at Her Campus conferences! After eating too many burrito bowls, everybody went back into the ballroom for the afternoon keynote – Tammy Tibbetts, President/Founder of She’s The First. She’s the First sponsors girls’ education in developing countries and has campus chapters at both high schools and universities.

The day wrapped up with another round of panels followed by raffle prizes which included Chipotle catering coupons, dorm decor from Dormify, makeup by Milani, and much more! We’re so happy that 4 of our team members got to attend as speakers. Thanks to Her Campus for an amazing conference!
