A new pair of fall boots is the perfect way to start the season off right.  This year, the boot trends are a little overwhelming.  It’s easy to get lost in all of the booties, rain gear, shearling, edgy, and classic styles.  Here is your guide to the perfect fall boot trends and what to wear them with.

The classic suede bootie: Try styling this boot with relaxed, loose fitting clothes.  A chunky cropped sweater is the perfect complement to straight-legged denim.  Cuff the bottom of your jeans for a little more character.

The bold animal print bootie: Animal prints make a huge statement—keep the rest of your outfit simple.  The popular silky blouse in a neutral color with dark wash skinny jeans feel put-together and feminine without taking the attention away from these awesome shoes!  Go for a subtle yet fashionable safari-animal theme with an olive green anorak to keep warm.

The motorcycle boot: This trend is not limited to the rocker girl!  It’s all about juxtaposition.  Wear dark mid-calf boots that have a lot of hardware with feminine pieces.  A printed chiffon dress and tights go perfectly with this type of boot.  For more of a tough edge, throw on a studded bangle.

Distressed ankle boot: Buckles, straps, and laces scream edgy boots.  Go comfy with distressed denim, a flannel button down, and bright colored beanie.

Bright rain boot: Nothing adds sunshine to a rainy day like bright rain boots!  For the rest of your outfit, stick to neutral colors.  Wear a tunic tank dress under a soft cropped sweater with leggings to stay comfortable in the gross weather.  Add a fun umbrella and you’re good to go!

Classic rain boot: I know school apparel isn’t necessarily chic, but on a rainy day, anything goes!  Opt for an Emerson sweatshirt without a hood when you head to Barnes & Noble.  Throw on your comfiest pair of jeans and accessorize well.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match accessories like a headband or statement rings with a sweatshirt!

Riding boot: Literally anything goes for this style.  Try layering a blazer over a sweater dress with a fun print.  Keep warm with tights and an adorable knit hat.

The classic boot: Classic heeled boots are perfect for fall.  Stick to more traditional styles and very warm knits.  Dark wash skinny jeans and a huge poncho is the quintessential fall ensemble.

Shearling boot: For this trend have a little fun!  Bold colored jeans like this red pair and a chambray button down are effortlessly casual.  If you want to add a little more to this outfit, be fearless and throw on a fur vest!

Winter snow boot: Cozy, cozy, cozy!  Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you can’t wear winter boots in the cold, especially since it snowed over Halloween weekend!  Wrap up in your warmest oversized sweater and favorite circle scarf.
