Four Reasons Why We’ll Miss Zayn in One Direction

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

On Wednesday, March 25, Zayn Malik officially left the famous boyband, One Direction. Many tween and teen hearts broke that day. Zayn was one-fifth of the band and provided a good part of the balance the band needed. Plus, his brooding mysterious factor made all the girls love him. Why do we love him? Here are a few reasons!

1. His face

Look at that face. Is it not the most gorgeous thing you have ever seen? If Zayn is one thing, he’s beautiful. Who doesn’t swoon looking at him? We will certainly miss this face in the band!

2. His voice

We all know that point in every One Direction song when Zayn hits that impossible high note or soothes you with his very important solo. What will One Direction be without that? Surely Harry or Liam can hit high notes too, but no one can do it like Zayn can.

3. His love for the fans

Zayn doesn’t speak up much, but when he does, he’s heartfelt. Niall might think we’re the best fans in the world, but it means a lot when Zayn says it! Doesn’t it melt your heart when he calls us adorable?

4. His in-concert smolder

If you’ve been to a One Direciton concert or watched one of their many concert films, you know the smolder I’m talking about. He doesn’t jump around or attempt to dance like the rest of the guys, but he busts out his solos and high notes while looking as beautiful as ever.

We’re all going to be incredibly sad when the next One Direciton album is released and we don’t hear Zayn on it, or when he isn’t in the next music video. We’re all (secretly or not) Zayn girls at heart. But don’t be too sad, girls! He released a demo on March 30 called I Won’t Mind. It might not be the same, but we won’t be missing everything we love about him for too long (hopefully)!
