Oh, how the holidays can bring on the feeling of magic in the air and cheer amongst family, friends, and even strangers! From holiday shopping to ice skating, winter markets, and picking out a Christmas tree, there are endless activities to do outside of the home. But what if you want to stay inside, cozy and comfortable, all curled up while still joining the holiday spirit? That’s where holiday movies come in. Trust me, you’re going to want to add these festive films to your watchlist.

Something From Tiffany’s

If you’re looking for a holiday mix-up, this one’s for you! Starring Zoey Deutch as Rachel and Kendrick Sampson as Ethan, Something From Tiffany’s follows the pair in their current, separate relationships. Per the Christmas tradition of gift giving, both Ethan and Rachel’s boyfriend, Gary, get their partners something from Tiffany’s. The mix-up? Gary accidentally takes the engagement ring Ethan ordered, and in turn, Ethan takes the earrings Gary had purchased for Rachel.

Both men are shocked when their girlfriends open the gift and find that it wasn’t what they had bought. Determined, Ethan sets out to get the ring back and meets Rachel along the way. Will Ethan and Rachel spark a connection, or are they already with the person they’re meant to be with? That’s up to you to find out!

Something From Tiffany’s is available on Prime Video.

Holidate

For the viewer who loves a good fake romance, Holidate is what you’ve been looking for.

Holidate follows Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) as they struggle to navigate the holidays and relationships.

Sloane’s family gives her grief over being single, especially after her brother’s engagement, leaving her as the only single family member. Jackson’s issue lies in the pressure of expectations when casually dating during the holidays. Together, they decide to be each other’s date for any and all holidays, with no emotional or physical commitment to one another. As each holiday passes, their connection seems to grow. Will they be kissing under the mistletoe? Watch to find out!

Holidate is available on Netflix.

Our Little Secret

Did somebody say second-chance romance with a dash of forced proximity? Oh, I’m practically squealing at the thought!

For the first time, Avery (Lindsay Lohan) will be spending the holidays with her boyfriend, Cameron. He has a big family, including a sister, Cassie, who has also invited her partner to spend the holidays with them. Totally normal, right? Wrong! Cassie’s boyfriend just so happens to be Avery’s childhood friend-turned-ex-boyfriend, Logan (Ian Harding). Already dealing with Cameron’s judgmental mother, Avery urges Logan to keep their past a secret.

What could go wrong when these two spend the next few days underneath the same roof? Or, what could go absolutely right?

Our Little Secret is available on Netflix.

Love Hard

Calling all fans of Love, Actually and Die Hard! And also, fans of Catfish.

Oh, online dating! A brave thing to venture out on these days, truly, and a journey that Natalie (Nina Dobrev) hasn’t had the best of luck in. It’s a holiday miracle when she matches with Josh! She’s from California, and he’s from New York, so since they’ve never met in person, Natalie does what she can to ensure his profile is real. At her friend’s remark that Natalie has never seen the man, Natalie decides to surprise him at Christmas!

Of course, the miracle must be brought down to reality. When she arrives, she meets Josh’s family and discovers that while his name is Josh, he does not look like his photos. Turns out Josh, played by Jimmy O. Yang, has been using pictures of his childhood friend on his profile. He didn’t intend to catfish her and tells her he’ll set her up with his friend if she pretends to be his girlfriend in front of his family.

As for Love, Actually and Die Hard? Well, the two debate which one is the better Christmas movie, and whether Die Hard is even a Christmas movie to begin with. Clearly, they’re onto something if they meshed the two for the title.

Love Hard is available on Netflix.

Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story

What would the holidays be without a good old Hallmark movie? A recent release, Holiday Touchdown stars Holland Roden as Morgan and Matthew Daddario as Gabe. Lifelong neighbors and friends, Morgan and Gabe share the excitement for their team, the Buffalo Bills, and anticipate watching the final home game before Christmas.

When Morgan’s uncle tells her that someone has been sending him a Bills ornament every year, she makes it her mission to find the sender. Enlisting Gabe, the two embark on their journey to make this Christmas the best one yet for Morgan’s uncle. Gabe has always harbored feelings for Morgan; feelings that deepen with each passing moment. Will she be able to see him as more than a friend this holiday season? Tune in and find out.

Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Lovestory is available on Hallmark +, Philo, and Prime Video.

Whether watching by yourself or with company, I hope these movies flutter your heart and add something special to your holiday season!
