Emerson Lingo You Should Program Into Your Phone

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

They say one’s autocorrect is the window to their soul. Okay, maybe not, but with texting being such an integral part of our lives today, it’s interesting to see what suggestions our phones make as we type. It reflects what’s going on in our lives and what we’re talking about all the time. (For example, my phone’s constant suggestion to change “okay” to “okaycupid” shows how frequently I’ve discussed my friends’ online dating forays.) As first semester winds down, here’s some Emerson lingo that should definitely be programmed into your smartphone by now.

Prow and LB – No one really wants to take the time to type out the names of two of the biggest hotspots on campus.

DH – Some schools have names for their dining hall, but we just have “The DH”.

EmCaf – Short for Emerson Café, it will always be just “EmCaf”, despite the recent change to Einstein’s Bagels.

WLP and MT – Some of the only majors with their own initials, these definitely fall under the category of “Acronyms only Emerson students understand.”

The Max – This is perhaps the most useful acronym of all, considering how long its full name is!

OL – While plenty of schools have orientation leaders, only at Emerson do we have such an honored and short title for them!
