The beginning of a new semester can often be a very stressful thing as you adjust to your new classes and get used to being back at college. However, I’ve personally found that getting away from everything and just relaxing is helpful, and listening to chill music is a great way to relax. The following songs are some of my favorite calm picks!

  1. “Light On” — Maggie Rogers. I love Maggie Rogers’ voice, and this is such a tender and beautiful song! I can’t wait to hear what she comes up with next. (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSFjYe54uv4)

  2. “Just Like Love” — Perfume Genius. Mike Hadreas (aka Perfume Genius) has such an ethereal and lovely voice, and this is such a positive and gorgeous little tune. (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxhnsB9OJpU)

  3. “Shrike” — Hozier. Hozier truly has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard, and his songwriting is unparalleled. This is a really romantic and lovely acoustic song! I adore it. (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWLqdAJbu0A)

  4. “Pink In The Night” — Mitski. In my humble opinion, Mitski is one of the greatest talents of our generation, and both her vocal skills and songwriting aptitude are on perfect display in this song. I highly recommend checking out both this song and the album it came from, “Be The Cowboy”! (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-B5yr2zyY0)
