Forget breakfast – brunch is now the most important meal of the day! Come on, let’s face it, breakfast is overrated and lunch is so boring. If you go to brunch you can sleep in and still eat some delicious Belgian waffles…with warm maple syrup, pecan smoked bacon, and freshly squeezed orange juice. (Are you hungry yet?)

The best part about living a city is that there are endless food options. There are some amazing restaurants in Boston that have delicious brunch menus. To make your life a little bit easier and your Sundays a little bit lazier, we’ve come up with a list of the top six places to have brunch in Boston. So grab your best friends, your sweetest dress, classiest bruncheon manners, and bon appétit!

The Paramount

44 Charles St

Not to be confused with Emerson’s very own Paramount Café, this amazing restaurant in Beacon Hill is famous for it’s diner-style breakfasts. You order your food cafeteria-style and watch as the chefs make your food right in front of you. Prices here are reasonable: you can get banana pancakes ($7.50), an egg, cheese, and sausage sandwich ($5), or choose from various selections of omelets (for around $7 or $8). Get here early because the lines at the Paramount during breakfast time are known to get long, and you don’t want to be waiting out in the cold.

The Breakfast Club

270 Western Ave, Allston

Leave your pearls at home, ladies, you won’t need them at this retro, all-American-style diner. You can choose to get seated at a booth or at the counter and both options give off a classic diner-vibe. For food, there are great options such as the “The Dork,” 2 eggs with toast and home fries ($4.49), or “The Princess,” a Belgian waffle with fresh fruit and whip cream ($7.19). If you’re wild for the 80s or the classic John Hughes movie, then you’ll love The Breakfast Club diner. Beware, though, this diner is only open until 2pm.

Stephanie’s on Newbury

190 Newbury St

Maybe you’re feeling a little fancier and classier and want to treat yourself to a nice, elegant brunch. Newbury Street is the obvious location for high-class living but Stephanie’s should be your ultimate brunch destination. The food here is pretty expensive but you’re offered a variety of delectable Sunday brunch options. Try the crab cake benedict ($18), the frittered French toast ($15), or a grand cup of New England clam chowder ($9). Stephanie’s brunch menu also offers salads and sandwiches. Stephanie’s on Newbury is a great place to go with your visiting parents or grandparents for a special get-together brunch.

Masa

439 Tremont St.

You don’t want to spend a fortune on brunch but you don’t want to go to a cliché diner, either? Then Masa is for you! With Masa, a great Mexican-style restaurant, you can still dress up in your Sunday best but you don’t have to break the bank. Try Masa’s Huevos Rancheros ($8.95) or Santa Fe Eggs Benedict ($9.95). Their brunch menu also features a special tapas section ($4-$9). Masa is located close to the Emerson College campus so there’s no need to take the T. Simply head down Tremont and get ready for an enjoyable white tablecloth brunch.

South End Buttery

314 Shawmut Ave

This charming bakery is great for a small group or casual Sunday morning date. Although it is a little pricey, they are known for their excellent coffee and casual, relaxing atmosphere. Share a “Buttery Bakery Basket” ($8) with a friend or order some smoked salmon and eggs ($14). For $6, you can get two pancakes or parmesan-garlic fries. Brunch is available 10am-3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Trident Booksellers and Café

338 Newbury St

Breakfast and a book! This charming spot on Newbury St. provides for a unique brunch location. Grab a table inside or outside and get ready for a quick and yummy meal. Trident offers a “Perpetual Breakfast” menu with pretty much any breakfast food your little heart could desire. Order a frittata ($9.95), a breakfast burrito (8.95), or their apple Brie omelet ($9.95). Oh and did we mention that they deliver? Yes, brunch in bed. It doesn’t get much better than that!
