If you had told me years ago that Shay Mitchell and Selena Gomez would be collaborating on a project, I wouldn’t have believed you. Since their time on Pretty Little Liars and Wizards of Waverly Place, the two brunette beauties have grown and launched their own business ventures. Shay Mitchell created BÉIS (2018), a luggage company, while Selena Gomez created her beauty brand, Rare Beauty (2020). Both their companies have been featured in Forbes magazine, and continue to break boundaries within their respective industries.
This month, they launched their BÉIS x Rare Beauty collaboration. This collaboration brings luggage for a different type of cargo – makeup! The pair expressed their excitement to work together, especially since they are longtime friends. Mitchell and Gomez designed three limited edition items: The Large Cosmetic Pouch, The Blush Case, and The Makeup Brush Pouch, all in the beloved Rare Beauty shade “Worth.”
The Large Cosmetic Pouch keeps all of the makeup products in place, as Shay Mitchell describes it, “The not repack bag.” No matter how you travel, the products will remain safe and vertical throughout the journey. In addition, this pouch includes an insulated pocket for all the under eye-patch or face mask needs. The Blush Case holds up to one blush for when you’re on the go! It has a small mirror on the inside and is made to be attached as a keychain to other bags. The Makeup Brush Pouch works as a compact travel bag, with the top of the bag constructed to fold over for when the brushes are put to use.
As a lover of Pretty Little Liars, Wizards of Waverly Place, travel, and makeup, how could I refuse? They did include a luggage in the shade “Worth” as per their collaboration, though it is only available through a giveaway. My only wish was that there were a few more products. This seemed like a great collaboration idea to only have three products, but I believe they could always come back for a Beis x Rare Beauty part two!
