The 5 Stages of Admitting You Have a Caffeine Problem

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

You can’t deny it any longer; you definitely drink way too much coffee. Admitting you have a caffeine problem is a process, but your fellow coffee drinkers are here for you. Here are the five stages of dealing with your dependence on that cup of Joe.

1. Denial

“I don’t drink that much coffee!”

2. Anger

“Is it okay that we only have decaf?”

3. Bargaining

“Just one more cup, I promise! I won’t even get a Venti!”

4. Depression

“What do you mean the pot is empty?”

5. Acceptance

“Let’s be honest, I’m not giving up coffee any time soon.”

Don’t worry; we won’t try to take your coffee away anytime soon.
