3 Outfits For When You Don’t Know What to Wear

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

I get it. We have all been there, staring at our closet full of dresses and drawers with every color of shirt under the rainbow… and still have nothing to wear. It’s that frustrating roadblock that makes mornings just start on an annoying note. Never fear, here are three outfits that are simple, easy to create, and will solve the problem (at least sometimes)!

Casual: Graphic tee, high waisted jeans, and Converse

For those of you who are looking for a truly simple outfit to wear, pairing a (clean) graphic tee with high waisted jeans and Converse never fails. Tuck the shirt in for a more put-together look, and cuff the bottom of your pants to add a little unique touch. Lace up your high tops and you’re good to go!

Girly: Dress, knee socks, and booties (or knee boots)

We all have that dress- the faithful garment we can trust to look good and give us confidence. Simply pair it with knee socks and cute booties, and you’re fall ready! Or, if that is not your style, throw on your favorite knee-high boots instead.

Professional:  White/black button-down, trousers/nice jeans, and flats

Button downs are considered capsule staples for a reason. Pair your favorite neutral (my favorite is a classic white top) button-down with a contrasting pair of trousers or a nice pair of dark jeans. I personally prefer skinny jeans for this outfit. Add a pair of ballet flats or loafers (heeled or flat), and you’re good to go!

Of course, feel free to change and mold these outfits to your personal style! These are simply starting points for when you truly just need an outfit to throw on.
