1. WeatherÂ
We want it to be 60, 70 degrees outside, but reality kicks in when we walk in 40 degree weather with flip flops on. Spring takes time, and after mountains of snow it’s hard to be patient for some warm weather and sunshine. Even when it is warm, you have to stay cooped up inside your dorm to study for…
2. FinalsÂ
Finals suck. At least first semester finals are in cold December. Now we have to stay inside and deny the warm weather our wonderful company. Take a break and go for a walk, or try to study outside on those days, though. Finals shouldn’t take over your life.Â
3. Make up Days
After all that snow make up days are piled on to the end of the semester. All those days that you celebrated no school will be looked back on in infamy. Just remember that you paid for those classes. Would you rather be a little annoyed or robbed of your money?
4. Money
Money is slim at this point. You spent all your money on food, the movies, and those countless outfits for those parties you just had to go to. Now that it’s nice out you want to get an ice cream cone and go shopping. But you can’t. You’re too poor!
5. Homesickness
April is the month of homesickness. You are so close to going home that you just want to get up and go now, especially when you’re studying and all you want are your mom’s oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. But you know that you have to stay and study, even though you hate it.Â
6. Concerts and Festivals
Concerts love to kick off the approach of summer in the spring time. There are a bunch of concerts and shows, at least in cities, that start making you regret your decision to go to college. It takes up all your time, and you never get to do anything fun. But that’s what summer is for. Hang in there!
7. Projects
It’s not just finals that test your sanity. It’s the projects, presentations, and papers that make you cry in the middle of the night. They pile on quickly, but just remember, you are not alone.Â
8. Meal Plan
No more meal swipes? Join the club. Now, when you need food more than ever to rejuvenate you after a long study session, you have no money left to get any. You have to find a supermarket and hope that they hand out free samples.Â
9. Packing
Packing isn’t fun. And it seems to take us weeks to do so. You start before finals and you finish about an hour after your parents have already showed up. You have to do it though.Â
10. Moving Out
Moving out sucks. You have to say goodbye to your friends and endure traveling with all your belongings, yet again. But that’s college life. And even though we hate April, there are still some pretty great months of college yet to come.Â
