If you’ve ever wondered if you’re the only one whose face gets sweaty and oily in between walks to class, the answer is no, you’re not alone. The weather is still pretty warm at the beginning of the year, and a lot of girls report being fine one minute, sweaty the next during their daily trips around campus. To prevent shine and look the best you can be (no matter what the weather), here are a few tips for concerned collegiettes™ from seventeen.com:

Carry around rubbing alcohol or oil-blotting sheets. Lightly apply the alcohol with a cotton ball on your face, and it will grab any oil and leave your skin oil-free. The more tangible option, though, is to use oil-blotting sheets that will clear up shine without clogging your pores. The tiny 50-sheet packs can fit in just about anything, making them perfect for the collegiette™-on-the-go.

Wear a gentle face moisturizer with sheer powder on top of it. The moisturizer will replenish your skin and prevent the build-up of oil, while the powder will give you a smooth, shine-free complexion. Just make sure to apply the powder generously so it won’t clog your pores or give you a “mask-like” complexion. Also, using a moisturizer with SPF will protect your skin from the sun in addition to preventing shine.

Make a mask of natural ingredients to apply to your skin at home. Using a mask once a week will make your skin softer, toned, and refreshed. Plus, it will naturally minimize pores, making it more difficult for
oil to collect on your face. Here are some of the most popular ingredients for natural, homemade masks:

  1. Egg whites and plain yogurt
  2. Oatmeal, plain yogurt and honey
  3. Sugar and warm water
  4. Pumpkin pulp, eggs, almond milk and honey
  5. Banana, honey and orange/lemon extract
  6. Strawberries and sour cream

With these skin tips, you should be shine-free in no time. Just make sure not to eat any of the masks before applying them.
