What are you involved in on campus?
I am the Team Leader of Elon Outdoors, former president of Delta Upsilon, and I am a Leadership Fellow

What do you like to do in your free time?
Anything outside, whether it be backpacking, running, or even working in the community garden.

Thing about Elon: The community. Everyone from the faculty to the students, all help create an awesome atmosphere on this campus.
Movie: Master and Commander
Dream car: Aston Martin V12 Vantage 
Vacation spot: an undeveloped beach anywhere or somewhere in the mountains
 
Got a celebrity crush?
 Jennifer Aniston, without a doubt or that girl from the hunger games
 
If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
Most likely a jaguar in south america. It would be cool to roam the rainforest easily, be able to blend into the surroundings, and who wouldn’t want to be able to run/jump/swim and just be awesome? Plus, they look pretty cool. 

Any hidden talents?
 I make some mean scramble eggs and chocolate chip-banana pancakes

Describe your ideal date?
 Probably in the fall somewhere in the mountains so you can see all the changing leaves. It could be anything from a hike to a camping trip, or just exploring a neat mountain town or going for a scenic drive. Overall, somewhere preferably outside and room for us to talk and explore. 

Describe your dream girl?
  Someone who is not afraid to be outside and try new things. They have to be strong and able to dish anything right back, quick, and not take any shit from anyone. Also, they have to be a dog/animal person. Other than that, it does not matter to me. 

Any relationship advice?
Be yourself. I know everyone says that, but don’t say something just because the other person might like that answer more than the real one. Strong relationships come from being who you are from the start and have both people accept each other for that.

Avery is a sophomore at Elon University majoring in Print Journalism. She's involved with the yearbook, Phi Psi Cli, and the newspaper, The Pendulum, as well as a four year honors program called Leadership Fellows, and is also a member of Alpha Xi Delta, Theta Nu Chapter. Born and raised at the real Jersey Shore, she loves the beach, traveling, writing, running, and shopping. She recently studied abroad in Costa Rica for January Term, and hopes to go abroad for a semester in the fall of 2011. She hopes to move to Manhattan after she graduates and work for a women's magazine. Avery is excited to have the chance to bring Her Campus to Elon University.
