Meet Zaria Zinn, a California native who is currently a senior at Elon University. Throughout her four years at Elon, Zinn has expanded her personal passion for creativity and has turned it into job opportunities including her Redbubble store,  Zaria Grace Designs.

Hometown: Alameda, California

Major/Minor: Anthropology major with minors in multimedia authoring and entrepreneurship.

When did your love for entrepreneurship begin?

I’ve always been interested in creating my own business and watching it grow. When I was in middle school, I started a business called Down The Block Sitters where my friends and I would join up to be a babysitting team. People would contact me and I would send out different babysitters to babysit for them. From there, my desire to be my own boss has grown.

Was there a specific moment when you realized your passion for creativity or was it always present?

I’d say I’ve always been pretty creative. I danced a lot when I was younger and in highschool I did a lot of theater. When I came to college I needed to find a new creative outlet, so I got involved in many different ways. I painted a lot of canvases for my sorority and I got really into crafting. I started my own blog called Crafters Be Crazy which I ran for a little over a year. From there I found a love for graphic design, so I became the Social Media and Promotions Director for the radio station, WSOE, on campus.

What have you done with graphic design recently?

My newest venture is selling stickers on Redbubble. I’ve been selling stickers since December and in these few months I’ve sold 300 stickers. I uploaded my designs to the site and it’s been really fun seeing where my stickers have been bought. I sold a sticker to someone in Russia, Canada and London.

How do you hope to continue being creative in the future, potentially in a career?

As a senior, I’ve been applying to a lot of jobs that would allow me to be creative. In the future I would love to have my own marketing or P.R. firm and be my own boss and be creative for a living.

What is your favorite sticker that you’ve made?

That would definitely be a champagne glass that says “Cheers!” in it.
