There’s no way to deny it- the iPhone has become both incredibly popular and trendy. Elon’s campus is filled with the touchscreen phones branded with the infamous Apple logo, and with this surge of popularity has come a multitude of time-wasting apps.
One of the trendiest apps to date for the iPhone connoisseur is Instagram- the app that allows users to edit their mobile photos with filters and special effects that bring a sort of brilliance to any subject.
One of my favorite past times has been scrolling through Instagram, catching glimpses of whatever adventures my friends have been one while away from the Elon bubble. Spread across the country (or across the world, in some cases…), Elon students are doing pretty amazing things while away from our beloved campus during this three-month vacation.
Although I’m pretty certain that Instagram has the magical ability to turn anything beautiful, I have no doubt that the sights my friends are capturing on this app are almost just as magnificent in person.
Here are some of my favorite images that have graced my Instagram newsfeed this summer (thanks to those who are credited):
Mattie Cragin’s view of Vancouver city, Canada during her summer-long visit:
Perri Kritz’s snapshot of the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C.:
Becca Tyne’s beach visit to Amelia Island, FL:
Even I’ve joined in on the fun.. capturing a cloudy day on Lake Michigan in Chicago, IL:
