As college students, none of us have a ton of extra money to spend on beauty products. Here are some cheap beauty tricks to keep us looking pretty without breaking our wallets.

1.     Oatmeal facemasks—To combat blemishes, make your own facemask with oatmeal, water and honey. Simply microwave the oatmeal and water like you would a meal and then add the honey once it is cooked. Spread it over your face, avoiding the eye area and then rinse off after 10-20 minutes. Be careful when rinsing off the mask so as not to clog your sink!
2.     Lemon juice highlights—Salon highlights can cost upwards of $100. This spring, lighten your hair by squeezing lemon juice onto your hair (be careful to avoid your scalp!) and then laying out in the sun for about 30 minutes. The sun will activate the highlighting qualities of the lemon juice leaving you with beautiful and naturally lightened hair.
3.     Sugar scrubs—Instead of spending the money on an expensive exfoliate, use white or brown sugar mixed with honey to make a homemade body wash.
4.     DIY sea salt spray—Try making your own salt spray to achieve those effortless beachy waves by combining a spray bottle of water with approximately three teaspoons of sea salt.
5.     Make your own nail polish—Instead of buying a new nail polish when you crave a new manicure look, create a new shade by mixing together polishes you only have. Mix and match until you create your perfect polish!
Hope these tips help you!
