Though many collegiettes™ tend to fret over midterms, sickness and busy schedules during the fall season, the majority of students are able to appreciate the positive aspects of autumn that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Here are a few of Elon students’ most popular fall favorites:

Cold weather clothes
As the air gets chillier, collegiettes™ are happy to add on several layers if it means wearing comfy sweaters and dresses.
“My favorite part of fall is the clothes you can wear,” said sophomore Emily Lessard. “I love sweaters and jeans and boots, so I love that the fall weather allows us to wear these clothes.”
And since fall semester tends to be busy, these outfits help students be comfortable and relaxed as they go throughout the day. Some of the most popular fall pieces include cozy sweaters, blazers, lace, plaid and bright skinny jeans, according to Glamour Fashion.

Apple Cider
This seasonally produced drink is traditionally served on the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, and it is typically heated and mulled. Apple cider contains various spices that give the beverage a warm zest that appeals to people during the colder fall months.
Plus, there are several variations of cider depending on who is being served, from apple punch for children to alcoholic cider cocktails for an adult party. Here’s a recipe for basic cider to be enjoyed on a cold, crisp autumn day from cooks.com:

o   Pour four cups apple cider into small saucepan and heat to boiling point. Pour hot cider into cups or mugs.
o   Add two tablespoons of red hot candies to each cup of hot liquid and stir until candies are melted. Serve.

College Football
Though some assume that college females automatically get bored when they hear the word “football,” this isn’t the case for all collegiettes™. Watching football is often enjoyed because of the cultural traditions it’s associated with, such as tailgating and group bonding.
Additionally, students don’t always have to root for their school’s team, but also often enjoy watching a team from their hometown or a team that their family supports. This adds a sentimental value that can take some of the edge off of the sport’s competitive nature.

Halloween
Despite the famous quote from the classic chick flick Mean Girls, Halloween isn’t just an excuse for girls to
dress slutty. Students can enjoy bonding with friends and family through various activities, such as pumpkin carving, decorating, watching scary movies and making Halloween-themed treats.
“I love everything about fall,” said junior Jayme Mantos. “I like the feeling in the air, wearing hooded sweatshirts, setting up cute Halloween decorations and watching great movies like Casper and Hocus Pocus.”

Here is a list of the top five Halloween treats, according to babble.com:
o   Candy Corn
o   Chocolate-covered raisins
o   Flavored Tootsie Rolls
o   Sugar Babies
o   Bit-O-Honey
