This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Elon chapter.

1.     Name, Age, Major, Hometown

Brooke Lowrey, 19, Communication Design,  St. Louis, MO

2.     You’ve just been selected as the new editor-in-chief of The Edge Magazine. What sort of things are you feeling?

I am incredibly excited about taking on the role as Editor-In-Chief of The Edge Magazine.  Although I love fashion, I am more interested in being apart of all sections and leading the magazine as a whole.  The Edge has already evolved so much in the past year and I am excited to be able to mature it even further.

3.     The former EIC, Lindsey Lanquist, really pushed the magazine to be the best it’s ever been. What is an idea she had that you want to continue?

One of the main ideas we have discussed is really focusing on The Edge as a Lifestyle magazine not so much a fashion or women’s magazine because it is important that is can serve the whole student body in some way, shape, or form.

4.     Before becoming EIC, you were The Edge’s fashion editor. Is fashion where your true passion lies? When did you first begin to have an interest in fashion?

The fashion section of the magazine will always hold a special place in my heart.  I started loving fashion as a baby.  My mother will always be the first to tell you that I had a say in fashion before I could even talk due to the fact I would rip off the outfits I didn’t like.  Becoming involved with styling and clothes as I got older was the beginning of my creative journey and has pushed me to do so much more beyond fashion.

5.     Can you see yourself working for a magazine after college? What other fields are you interested in?

I would love to work for a magazine after college in the creative process side of things.  My real dream is to be creative director for some great brand or company and helping form their image and message to the world.

6.     What can people look forward to in from The Edge in 2016?

Overall, I am excited to help The Edge grow and mature further in 2016.  You can expect a ton of great content that will reach all people on campus. College students are at such a crucial point of their lives where they have the freedom to chose what type of life they want to lead.  My goal is to make sure that every part of The Edge will serve the students best and inspire them in their quest of figuring out the person they are/want to be.
