18 Beautiful Instagram Accounts to Scroll Through When You’re Stressed

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Elizabethtown chapter.

I don’t consider myself an artist. I paint from time to time, and love writing poems, but my love for art doesn’t make me talented. Nonetheless, I really appreciate art. Music, poems, and images can affect ones mood and emotion, so for Stress Awareness Month, I decided to collect some of my favorite artists from Instagram since Instagram is a great place for art to be stored and easily shared. So when you’re stressed out and need a distraction from class, homework, and life in general, feel free to scroll through some art below to bring up your mood.

I didn’t want to just link to models’ pages, because sometimes looking at fit girls with perfect bodies in foreign lands (and lots of filters) doesn’t make you feel less stressed. So I organized the pages I liked into categories of different art, so feel free to only check out the ones that interest you.

Photography

Pictures of the world and around the world, of man-made objects and nature itself

@inkmixers

A super simple page for super simple viewers. If you’ve ever loved slime mixing videos or paint mixing videos, this page posts pictures or videos or paint mixing. That’s it, just paint mixing. Satisfying, and beautiful colors.

@ponderosa_and_thyme

If you love flowers but are allergic to pollen like I am, Katie Davis’ page allows you to enjoy the beauty of bouquets and flowers as if you had your own garden.

@jacobsantiago

I’m a little biased because I live in New York, but I’ve always found skyscrapers and urban locations so beautiful. Jacob does too, that’s why he uploads photos of the New York City setting in snow, rain, fog, night and day, and they’re all so beautiful.

@brahmino

If you’re into rural locations more than urban, no worries! Simone captures amazing pictures all around the world, including beaches, cities, forests, gardens, and more.

@nasa

Let’s go above and beyond, because maybe you’re tired of seeing skyscrapers and fields. Who else would have beautiful pictures from outer space other than Nasa themselves? Even flat earthers have to admit these photos are beautiful.

Edited Photos

Not just filters, but works of art utilizing photos

@sarashakeel

There’s honestly nothing more captivating other than glitter and shiny things. Sara gets that, so that’s why she edits photos so they glisten like diamonds. Explaining it doesn’t do it justice, her page is honestly too beautiful to put into words.

@calop_

It’s really awesome to see the original photo that artists add edits to to create a piece of art, that’s why Calop shows every edit made to the pictures on this page and how a model and light from a iPhone can turn into a true work of art.

@fetching_tigerss

Although this page is no longer active, I’m still a huge fan of this girl. She’s hella talented, and she works independently to make some of the best art I’ve ever seen.

@brandonwoelfel

An actual photographer who gets paid to take pictures, Bandon is famous for his use of colors, lights, and blur. He also gives tips from time to time on how to perfect lighting like he has for his pictures.

Art Pieces

The true professionals who make art and are nice enough to post it online

@chelseasflowercrowns

Chelsea is a true artist who creates awe-inspiring crowns fit for mermaids, princesses, fairies, and whoever the hell wants to wear them. She sells her pieces, and although I won’t be able to afford one anytime soon, I am truly in love with staring at them.

@lorysunartistry

A fashion designer uploading her pieces to Instagram may just make you picture dresses and hats, but this page has fashion you’ve never seen. Instead, think of amor, head pieces, metal corsets, and actual wearable pieces of art. I don’t plan to buy any of it, but the talent of this artist is really impeccable.

@jessicakobeissi

Like Brandon Woelfel, Jessica makes a living with her photography. I was originally going to include her page in the photography category, but honestly I consider her pictures pieces of art. She chooses the outfits of her models, the locations for her models, and the poses all in the name of creating a work of art, not just a photo. (She also has a super entertaining YouTube Channel where she goes behind the scenes and does photography challenges at https://www.youtube.com/user/jessicakphoto).

@_art_psycho

Okay, here’s a page of actual art. Not photographs or objects for sale. This page uploads art from a huge variety of artists, including minimalistic pieces and really complex pieces, and many times of composition.

@afremov

Again, Leonid Afremov is an actual artist. Actually, my favorite artist. His work has been my favorite for years now. He does oil paintings and utilizes brush strokes and colors in a way no one else can perfect. I do indeed plan to purchase his work once I have my own place, because it makes me so happy.

Funny / Cute

If not created by artists or not in the name of art, still an enjoyable time

@nathanwpylestrangeplanet

Who knew aliens could be so adorable? On this page, Nathan depicts aliens in a comic as they describe everyday actions we do, like going to sleep at night, going to the drive thu, and petting cats, but they’re so adorable! This page just brings warmth to your heart.

@robczar

Although Rob Czar is a YouTuber (https://www.youtube.com/user/ThreadBanger), but his channel he runs with his wife Corinne is everything but relaxing. His Instagram on the other hand has a good mix of comedy and consistency to be considered art. It’s simple, wherever Rob travels, he pictures his middle finger in front of the location. That’s it. His page shows him flipping off his friends, his food, historical landmarks, graffiti, and everything else he looks at.

@rachelryle

I recently found this page, and it is absolutely adorable! Rachel uses stop motion and drawings to tell stories. Not only is she insanely talented, but her page is super creative.

@andrewknapp

Andrew took the concept to Where’s Waldo and created an Instagram page where his ADORABLE dog plays the role of Waldo. Every picture on his page has his doggo in it. In some, it’s super easy to spot the dog, and in some I still can’t find him. Super creative idea and super cute pupper.
