Accutane is a prescription medicine that helps with severe acne. I’m not going to post pictures or anything, but let’s say that thanks to Accutane I have gone from looking like a crunch bar to pretty much clear skin. Stuff works miracles. However, it is a very intense drug that requires you to get blood work done once a month, not be allowed to get a tattoo or piercings, or even be in the sun longer than 30 minutes without getting burnt. I have had 2 rounds of it and I know that my second time around was more successful because of my experience and knowledge from the first round. If you are using Accutane/have really dry or sensitive skin, I would STRONGLY recommend snatching these products:

Dr.Dan’s Cortibalm

-This was just about the ONLY chapstick that was intense enough to save my poor dehydrated lips. I know it seems pricey for chapstick but I SWEAR its so worth it. Get 2 at first because lord knows you will lose one and spend a week with uncomfortably dry lips. Once you’re over the super dry phase I would go to any of the burts bee’s chapsticks because Dr.Dan’s gets to be a little too much, but for the most part Dr.Dan’s is a life saver!!

Cetaphil Moisturizer

-Call me old fashioned if that’s what Cetaphil is but I grew up using this stuff and it always has treated me so well!! I usually get the blue capped one, but on a target spree I grabbed the green one without realizing. Both are great, but the green capped one has a thicker formula that I didn’t like having under my makeup. I would get the blue for your face and the green for your arms/body, and at night as a more intense facial moisturizer.

Glamglow ThirstyMud

-This was something the facemask junkie in me really wanted to try and if you want to treat yourself I HIGHLY recommend this moisturizer. It has the most amazing vanilla smell to it, brightens your face, and really moisturizes it to the point where you wake up feeling like you are a glowy Greek goddess. It is pretty pricey so this is your treat-yourself/my-mom-is-offering-to-buy-it sort of mask.

Hawaiian Tropic After Sun

-Long story short, I got sun poisoning using SPF 60 twice in a span of 4 hours on the beach. Yea, I burn CRAZY easy. To combat this I got this After Sun because it has aloe AND moisturizer!!!!! Aloe for your burns and moisturizer for your dry skin!!! Huge win for Accutane people!!!! Plus it smells like summer and happiness so when you’re inside trying to not get fried to a crisp in the middle of summer it makes you feel better.

Good luck and may the odds be ever in your skin’s favor!
