Organizations to donate to after Hurricane Harvey

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at ECU chapter.

When disaster strikes in America we are, thankfully, all hands on whether that be with donations, clothing, food and even boats to help evacuate victims who are stuck. But, just as important as those things are, it’s just as important to make sure that you are sending your items to an organization that will make sure Houston (or any area facing disaster) will get all of the profits raised and collected.

If you are looking for organizations to send items to or donate money to, then a few will be listed below.

This was started after a number of citizens and companies who wanted to help. Mayor Sylvester Turner established this. It is a 501©(3) public charity: https://ghcf.org/hurricane-relief/

The Houston Food Bank is asking for food, water and other supplies for people who have been displaced by the storm: http://www.houstonfoodbank.org

If you are in Houston/surrounding areas and are in need of help:
