I’m not a sports person. My father and brother are, and I tend to enjoy basketball, but for the most part, I’m not a sports person. However, I love awards shows. It’s almost like a guilty pleasure except I don’t feel guilty about it. Today the Golden Globes nominations came out! So I decided to make a little list of my thoughts! Get excited.
1. Big Little Lies
Is anyone surprised that his show is leading in Golden Globe nominations? This show is gripping, and full of powerful and complex women, score one for feminism;)
2. Get out is nominated as a comedy?
I find this a little strange, but there were some funny parts? I watched an interview with the director Jordan Peele on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and after watching that it made a little more sense, but either way this movie definitely deserved the nomination!
3. The Disaster Artist got a nomination!
I’m a huge James Franco and Seth Rogan fan, so this just made me really happy!
4. Meryl Streep is still my queen
I bow before the greatness that is this woman. Hands down one of the most talented actresses to ever do the thing.
5. The Boss Baby?
I’m not going to lie, this wasn’t one of my favorite movies this year. I wasn’t crazy about the idea, or the writing. However, the Golden Globes liked it because it’s nominated for best animated film.
