Wedding season is officially upon us, and with that comes the stress of attending three weddings in a month (or at least it does for me). Here are some things to remember when you’re attending a wedding for one of your closest friends and suddenly remember just how single you are.

Weddings are a great place to meet people. Be it people that you might be interested in forming a relationship with or just making new friends, weddings are great events to meet awesome people. I know I’ve made some of my greatest memories at weddings with people that I had just met. The trick is to be open and don’t be afraid to just let loose and have some fun (after all, that’s precisely what weddings receptions are for)!

You get to eat free food. If you’re standing around at a weeding this season, and you don’t know what to do or who to talk to, just remember that this is an oppurtunity to eat free food and cake (especially the cake). Wedding food can be some of the most amazing food or some of the worst food that you’ve ever had, but if it’s bad, just remember that you will get cake, and the cake will be amazing (because wedding cake is always amazing).

Weddings are so fun. Someone you know is legally tying themself to someone they love! Huzzah! Weddings really are a celebration of love no matter who it belongs to. Your best friend, aunt, uncle, parent, grandparent, if you’re single at one of their weddings at least you’re watching someone you love be happy. Celebrate your loved one’s love, it’ll make you forget about that singe-ness.

Have some faith. Life has a funny way of working out, so if you’re feeling down because it’s not you up there getting married (or even if you feel relived and never want it to be you) don’t worry, life will work out because that’s what it does. So just enjoy eating free food (and cake), meeting new people, and having an awesome time!

With these tips, you’ll forget all about being single at that wedding you have to go to this season and meet some new people, eat some awesome food, and celebrate the love that two of the people you know have for each other! I can’t think of a better way to spend a weekend!
