Spring Break: Just Around the Corner

Spring break is just around the corner and it couldn’t come at a better time for all of us college students. Midterm papers and exams are just finishing up and you want nothing more than to run off with your friends to have an amazing weekend. Anyone have a plan? Not sure what you’re going to do yet? Well I have a list of options for you all over the place based on your budget.

If you can’t afford to spend much, there is so much to do on campus and off, if you can get off. Since we have a beach on campus, hangout there with a group of friends! Bring drinks, food, and games! Have a great day. You can also go over to the waterfront, rent out a kayak or paddle board, and explore the bay! At night set up camp fires and have a little party. Go down to St. Pete beach and explore the restaurants and shops. Have a movie night by ordering pizza and renting a fun movie. There is so much to do for less than $100 for the week! Maybe not even $100.

If you have saved up and can spend a little money. Take a trip to Orlando if you love amusement parks. There are Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Disney parks, and so much more. It’d be fun and worry free. If you want the outdoorsy type go to the Florida Keys and spend a week or weekend there kayaking, fishing, shopping, and if you like partying take a trip down Duval street. There’s so much to do and it can be at your price range.

If you can afford to spend a bit more there is tons to do. Take a day trip and go to Busch Gardens. Its only 45 min away and by getting a season’s pass you save much more than by purchasing a single-day pass. Go shopping at the International Mall for some unique and expensive things to reward yourself for all the hard work you put in. If you’re looking for a more outdoorsy adventure go to Crystal River and swim with the manatees. It’s fun and different than anything you will ever experience. There is so much more out in the world to experience in Florida, so go explore it. Maybe even take a trip down into the Everglades; I highly recommend it.

If you can afford more than that go crazy. Take a trip to an island, take out a boat, or go on a cruise. If you’d like to something even more adventurous, go to another country and explore. Backpack through countries to discover new cultures or loves. If you can afford it, go for it.

There is so much to do for spring break and so much you can do, but think you can’t do. Just do some research and maybe you’ll discover you can do so much more than you thought you could. Otherwise go have fun and don’t think about school or exams or papers for a whole week. Have fun, but please be safe! Don’t drink and drive.
