Hannah Zaremsky ’14

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Eckerd chapter.

Year: Sophomore
Major:  Business Administration
Hometown:  Pittsburgh, PA (“For a brief time they took away the “h” but they put it back after people complained…”)
Status: Single (“Well actually I’m engaged to my friend Lally on Facebook, but it’s been three years…come on.”)

What do you do for fun?
“I like Sudoku a lot. Puzzles, jigsaw puzzles not stupid puzzles.”

Favorite sport?
“To watch, football. To play, soccer.”

Pick three words to describe yourself.
“Pink. Is that stupid? That’s my favorite color. Favorite color, colon, pink. Wait can you give me some answers? What do people normally put?

What’s your favorite pickup line?
“One day when I was out somewhere to dance, someone said ‘Oh, you look like you can use a twirl.’ I thought it was really cute, but no one seems to like it when I say it…”

Favorite pickup move?
“Wink and pouty…That’s where you wink and pout. I’ll do it for you, but I can’t do it when I’m smiling. One time it took me like 15 minutes.”

Who’s your role model?
“My sister, because who doesn’t want to be their big sister? She’s just really cool and has something fun to say.  She’s in a good mood a lot of the time. She called me earlier. No big deal. HUGE deal. Sometimes I send her funny pictures. Sometimes we do Mad Libs over the phone. Kay actually it was once. They’re really funny.”

Do you have plans for the future?
“Like how far in the future? Well my friend is coming on Tuesday. This summer I got an internship. I want to go to China next year.”

What’s your favorite quality in a guy?
“Hair. Oh that’s not a quality is it? Charismatic. Love me some charismatic boys. That’s ‘B-O-Y-Z.’”

And least favorite quality?
“Jean shorts. ‘Jorts.’ If mids (mid-length socks) were a quality I’d like those.”

And your celebrity crush?
“Jesse McCartney.”

You abbreviate a lot of things. What are some of your favorites?

“Wow, you’d think I’d have this off the bat. Oh! Perf (perfect), obv. Oh, and obv (obviously). Presh (precious). Totes (Totally). Shmance (fancy). It’s all about how you say it. It can be an okay one, but you have to say it like it’s a good one. Offish (Official). Sometimes I like to say ‘Omegs’ instead of Omega, but that doesn’t come up in conversation much. Sometimes I think people think I just messed up because the ‘a’ and the ‘s’ are next to each other, but I’m actually really good at typing. Tish! That’s short for tissue.

Some girls have all the fun; Devon Elizabeth Williams happens to be one of them. A carb loving, liberal hailing from Lakeville, Massachusetts, Devon is a senior at Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, Florida pursuing a  major in Political Science with a double minor in Journalism and International Relations. After spending January 2011 in an intensive Winter Term program at the United Nations in New York, Devon realized that taking over the world will be more difficult than anticipated, but nothing that a vivacious red head in stilettos can’t handle. In her free time Devon is a bartending beauty queen who has a soft spot for blueberry pie, Broadway and the scheming antics of Blair Waldorf. When she’s not paddle boarding at the waterfront or laying out on Eckerd’s private South Beach you can find Devon singing in the alto section of the concert choir. At the end of the day Devon is thankful for Newport, RI, her family, Sadie the black lab, Paul Mitchell, her girlfriends, Cheetah, and rhinestones.
