5 Halloween Movies You NEED To Watch!!!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Eckerd chapter.

As the spookiest of holidays continues to approach, we’re going to continue with the Halloween theme!  For many people the favorite part of Halloween is the awesome, spooky yet funny movies!  Here’s a list of 5 Must See Disney Halloween Themed movies!

1.       Halloweentown.  Halloweentown is about a young witch and her mother and grandmothers struggle about allowing her to explore the magical world that her grandmother lives in-Halloweentown.  Once you watch Halloweentown, and subsequently fall in love with Marty, Aggie, and the rest of the family, you can continue on with the story and marathon with the rest of the Halloweentowns: Halloweentown 2: Kalabar’s Revenge, the third Halloweentown: Halloweentown High, and the final Halloweentown: The Return to Halloweentown.

2.       Hocus Pocus.  No Halloween movie list is complete without Hocus Pocus!  Hocus Pocus is about 3 witches being brought back to life in Salem.  The movie follows the course of the boy that accidentally brought them back to life as he tries to kill them again while saving his little sister’s life from the 3 witches.

3.       Twitches.  Twitches is one of my personal favorites.  This movie features Tia and Tamera Mowry as twin witches who were separated at birth and rediscover each other on their 21 when Tamera’s character Camryn goes shopping and quite literally runs into Tia’s character Alex.  These two girls are then forced to come together in order to save their country from a Darkness that is growing.  After watching the original, be sure to watch the second one, Twitches Too!

4.       The Little Vampire.  The Little Vampire is about a little boy named Tony who after moving to the UK from California, makes a new friend named Rudolph-who just happens to be a vampire.  The movie follows these two friends on their adventures to find a stone to turn Rudolph’s family human, and escape a vampire hunter!

5.       The Haunted Mansion. The Haunted Mansion is one of the most widely known Halloween Disney movie, and was named after the ride at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Florida! This movie features the Evans’ family trying to find some family time while on a family vacation.  However it’s a vacation gone wrong when the family realized the mansion the family is visiting is haunted and the ghost master of the mansion believes the mother, Sarah, is the woman he was supposed to marry while still alive!

Makenzie is a freshman at Eckerd College in St Petersburg, Fl, where she majors in Marine Science and Communications.  Makenzie is a pretty big sports fan and a die-hard Buckeye since she grew up in the Heart of It All (AKA Ohio).  Makenzie enjoys long walks on the campus beach, late night adventures searching for Stumpy (the aligator on campus) and driving her friends crazy with stupid puns and corny pickup lines (that have never worked).
